Chamber Disaster Relief Center

In the Fall of 2005, Hurricane Katrina ripped through a number of communities along the Mississippi and Louisiana Gulf Coasts. The chamber community from across the country responded with heart and speed to help colleagues devastated by these storms, sending manpower, funds, supplies, and more to help recovery efforts. Donors - chambers, individuals, and companies - contributed, in total, over $180,000 to ACCE's chamber-to-chamber disaster relief fund. A sincere thank you from ACCE to everyone who contributed funds and from our sister chambers who benefited from your generous help!

What is the Chamber Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund?

ACCE created this chamber-to-chamber disaster relief fund to help chambers in need after Hurricane Katrina ripped through a number of communities along the Mississippi and Louisiana Gulf Coasts. The chambers that experienced the worst elements of the storm lost chamber buildings, company records, and significant portions of their business communities, among other things.

Where Did the List of Chambers in Need Come From?

ACCE partnered with the Louisiana Association of Business & Industry (LABI), the Mississippi Economic Council (MEC) to identify chambers in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama most in need.
