Here We Come, Milwaukee: ACCE Convention 2010
Alexandria, VA -
ACCE is pleased to announce that it has accepted Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s bid to host the 2010 ACCE Convention.
“We received excellent proposals from several great cities. With so many options presented, it was a difficult decision to make. However, after careful review and much discussion of a wide variety of factors, it was Milwaukee that stood out as the best choice for 2010. We thank Tim Sheehy and his team at the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce for preparing such an attractive proposal,”stated ACCE board chairman Douglas S. Kinsinger, CCE,president and CEO, Greater Topeka, Kansas Chamber of Commerce.
“We are thrilled and honored to host the ACCE convention on the eve of our 150th anniversary as a chamber. We will roll out a beer-proof red carpet,” remarked Tim Sheehy, president of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce.
“We're extremely pleased to welcome ACCE to Milwaukee in 2010, and I know their delegates will not be disappointed," said David Fantle, vice president of public relations for VISIT Milwaukee. "In fact, Milwaukee has a reputation of far exceeding expectations. As a convention destination we've gone from Brew City to New City. Our guests can still experience our Old World Charm, but they will be floored by some of our news attractions, including the Milwaukee Art Museum and Discovery World on our lakefront and just a couple of minutes from downtown the new Harley-Davidson Museum and the Potawatomi Bingo Casino expansion."
“ACCE looks forward to bringing the membership together in Milwaukee in 2010. As the convention grows each year in attendance and educational offerings, I know, from recent visits, that Milwaukee is exactly the right kind of setting to ensure a great experience for chamber professionals,” said Mick Fleming, ACCE president.
ACCE’s annual convention is the largest gathering of chamber professionals in the world. The convention offers chamber professionals, from membership development staff to CEOs, opportunities to learn new techniques, gain new tools and to better understand the issues involved in working at a chamber of commerce – the organization that leads businesses and communities. During the course of the convention, attendees hear dynamic keynote presenters and attend educational sessions tailored to their professional interests, whether it is communicating the chamber’s brand, tackling critical domestic and international policy issues, or learning about trends in economic development. The convention also provides attendees a networking opportunity like no other to build a national network of chamber professionals to collectively better serve business and community growth.
Established in 1914, ACCE is the only national association uniquely serving the professional development needs of individuals managing chambers of commerce throughout the United States and Canada. Representing more than 7,300 chamber professionals, ACCE enhances the knowledge, leadership skills, and management effectiveness of chamber executives and their staffs through education, trend analysis, benchmarking, and best practices. ACCE promotes the highest standards of professional excellence and integrity within the chamber profession.
